Title: Lyrics to America's Broken Dream

Media already labeled me
As America's number one public enemy
And you have decided you know who I am
When you really have no way to understand

What I endure in the life I lead
with the things I've learned, and concepts I believe but
Society decides ironically in turn
to shoot me down, watch me crash and burn

When my family and I are just a modern day
Example of the old American way
of coming to a new place and trying to survive
by grasping opportunity and building a new life
but no, certain measures have to be done

So there isn't a single one
left of us, to spoil your precious nation
and you begin your discrimination
against a race you don't even know
but all that matters is the TV. Shows

I'm a person with a heart and soul
I'm a girl with a dream and a life goal
I've been already shot down and told
I can't have the privileges you hold

You say I'm stealing your jobs, money and space
And that I should give back your rightful place
But before you shove me off as another wetback
Go look on the in Internet and learn the real facts

Immigrants contribute to this country's success
remember when the U.S. was still in progress
Your ancestors flocked to it's borders with dreams
And they worked hard to give you a chance to achieve
An education, rights, and a chance to live

They did all that just to possibly give
their decent, in other words you and your kids
a chance to escape old country's bullshit
but now you have the nerve to tell me
that I can't have the same opportunity

Strip it away from me and millions more
but there's so much you can't possibly ignore
That shipping us all away doesn't work out
we're already part of the United States now

I'm a person with a heart and soul
I'm a girl with a dream and a life goal
I've been already shot down and told
I can't have the privileges you hold

So before you judge me or call me a name
Remember your ancestors would be ashamed
to know you made someone else feel they're to blame
for all your mess-ups that you should claim

Oh, and remember, I'm just like you
someone who has hopes and hardships too
yet you think you're above me and "my kind"
But when the truth is right there, you're so blind

You continue to taunt and make rude remarks
when you really know it's wrong in your heart
If only you knew the horrors that we see

You're insignificant jokes wouldn't be so funny
You'll never know the sadness you bring
When proving America's a broken dream
